Chelmek
Name of the camp – Aussenkommando Chelmek
Commandant of the camp - SS-Oberscharführer Josef Schillinger; SS-Unterscharführer Wilhelm Emmerich
Location – Chelmek (Paprotnik quarter)
Period of camp existence – October 1942 – 9 December 1942
Work type – labor at the shoe factory (depending and cleaning the water reservoir)
Number of prisoners – around 150
Employer - Ota Schlesische Schuhwerke AG (formerly BATA)
Evacuation / Liquidation of the camp – on 9 December 1942 camp was liquidated and prisoners sent back to Auschwitz-Birkenau
Graveyard of pillboxes from BATA factory now collected in forest outside Chelmek.
