Nazi Euthanasia Death Book
We would like to present a small part of the archives called "Heidelberg Documents". The list presented below is called: Liste der Deutschen Anstalten für Geisteskranke und Schwachsinnige per 31.8.1941 [List of German institutions for the mentally ill and mentally retarded by 31/08/1941] and has been prepared on August 31, 1941. This is very interesting date. It means that the list was wrote after Hitler ordered on August 24, 1941 the cancellation of the T4 program.
The list was constructed as follows:
Name of region/county/city (underlined)
Then from left to right: Number of the Institution/ Name of the Institution/Place/Support/Number of Beds/Number of Questionnaires
This list is in some sense the list of death. We know form the list that total number of questionnaired patients was over 200.000. How many were killed? Apprroximate number of victims ranges between 70.000 and 100.000.
