MUNICIPAL CREMATORIUM LINDAU

In the muncipal crematorium of Lindau bodies from the Dachau sub camps of Friedrichshafen (23) and Saulgau (3) were cremated. 25 urns of ashes were scattered in the ash cemetary. Today there is an obelisk enscribed with "In memory" and listing the names of the 25 prisoners.

On April 5 1945 a transport of dying prisoners arrived from the sub camp of Uberlingen in Saulgau. This transport stayed in Saulgau until the liberation. Of the 214 prisoners in this transport 177 died and were buried in a mass grave in Saulgau.
