KL VUGHT

KL Vught had two single muffle permanent ovens and a single Kori mobile oven

"In the crematorium nearly all the bodies of men women and children who were killed in Camp Vught are burnt. The first victim in Vught is an 80 year old Jewish man who cant keep up with the march tempo on his way from the railroad station to the camp and collapses. He is buried at the Jewish cemetary in Vught. All future victims are either buried within the camp or cremated in a mobile oven.

After the completion of the crematorium towards the end of 1943 all bodies are exhumed and cremated after all. From the start Camp Vught has a Deutsche Standesbeamte (public records clerk). For each prisoner who dies he has to prepare a certificate containing personal information and cause of death. This is recorded in the Sterbuch (death book). Not all records are saved neither those of 1943 nor those of 1944. "
