KL STUTTHOF

Photos of the two single muffle Kori permanent ovens and the single muffle Kori mobile oven in Stutthof.

In the summer of 1942 an oil burning crematory oven was sent to the camp. It was placed on the eastern side of the hospital hut. A wooden roof was built over the oven and the crematory was fenced off from the rest of the camp. The oven worked for approximately six months. It could burn 5-6 bodies in 45 minutes using ca 5 litres of oil to do it. Before the oven was installed the bodies had been transported to Danzig and buried at Saspe.
