„Euthanasie” im Dritten Reich

Publishing House - Fischer (Frankfurt / Germany) published a new edition of one of the most important books ever written about the Nazi euthanasia - Ernst Klee, "Euthanasie im Dritten Reich”. The first edition of this book of 1983 sparked a huge impact of a research on the extermination of the mentally and terminally ill patients (Aktion T4). Klee expanded new edition of a hitherto unknown information and new analysis on the issue.

Klee's book is one of the most elaborate publication ever written about Nazi euthanasia. It's no wonder this because Klee spent many years on exploring this issue. Klee was one of the first researchers who dealt with the problem of beginnings of Nazi euthanasia in occupied Poland.
Book is divided into twelve sections, which lead the reader from the eugenics, through forced sterilizations until euthanasia (Aktion T4) and Brandt Action. Klee is a consistent researcher - shows the reader a point by point the way to the mass destruction.

The first edition of this book in Germany - "Euthansie im NS-Staat" (Fischer 1983) - received wide coverage in the world of researchers. Klee showed a new quality of writing about the Nazi crimes. The great advantage of this book (both the first and the new release) is the frequent citation of documents and witnesses to those events. The most interesting quotes were woven directly in the text, which is not always practiced.

By the way we would like to recommend another book by Ernst Klee - "Dokumente zur Euthanasie" also published by Fischer Verlag. This is a collection of sources related to euthanasia. This is an important book for all who are interested in the documentation of the first extermination by the Nazis carried out on a wide scale. We find there a documents associated with the expansion of racial hygiene in Nazi Germany, organizing of euthanasia actions in occupied Poland, children euthanasie, documents relating to six main centers of euthanasia in the Third Reich and others. This book is an excellent supplement to the main publications by Ernst Klee.
